Movie Review
Arya is the highlight of Kadamban. His physique and harsh acting keep the screenplay anchored. The story of his character could have improved a tad though. Raghava’s direction is reliable, and he has also assembled a great cast and specialized crew to ensure the quality of output. Stunning cinematography by Satish Kumar gives that visual spectacular and the different spectacular action sequences by Dilip Subbarayan particularly the closing action block with herds of elephants are realistically and splendidly executed. Raghava has also largely succeeded in presenting a relevant theme of our modern world.
Catherine Tresa looks pretty and gives a respectable performance. Her characterization is also bold. Aadukalam Murugadas plays an effective foil to Arya. Arguably the greatest downer is the lack of a reasonable villain. It’s hard to get into a track when there’s not a useful beat and rhythm. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s songs are functional and the BGM is partially good.
